Description:
The Dutch SME developed a new toy concept for conscious European millennial mothers (born between 1980 and 1995). The idea behind the concept is the need to minimize the amount of plastic toys and replace with beautifully designed natural toys that last for generations. In this way the company wants to inspire millennial mothers to make conscious choices; only sustainable toys of which it is known that it burdens the environment as little as possible and that are made in fair trade conditions. One of their products in portfolio is a wooden play kitchen. The play kitchen consists of 4 separate parts (products): A. Base kitchen, B. Kitchen hood, C. Refrigerator, D. Play Food Set. The base Kitchen is the primary product with B,C & D as options to expand the set. All 4 products will be sold separately. . Working drawings of the 4 different products will be supplied by the Dutch SME to the manufacturing partner. The play kitchen is made of sustainable Birch plywood (15 mm) and solid maple (18 mm). In order to save costs the Dutch company will most likely take care of the coloring and final assembly itself in the beginning. When numbers grow the manufacturing partner should have possibilities to take over the process of lacquering. The used paints are fully free of volatile organic compounds (VOC) and plant-based hard-wax oils and water-based eco paints. The potential partner should be able to ship the kitchens in parts, as a kit. Of course fully prepared for finishing off with paint and easy assembly. The play kitchens have a high level of finish and for instance no mounting materials, like screws are visible from the outside. The wood used must have a certificate, like Forest Stewardship Council (FSC. For the production of the play kitchens the SME looks for a certified manufacturer, preferably in eastern Europe and the Baltic States, who are able to produce these play kitchens in small quantities. The Dutch SME wants to establish a manufacturing agreement.
