Summary:
Belgian engineering start-up based in Brussels is active in aerodynamic simulation services and uses computational fluid dynamics software to provide a detailed and accurate approach to simulate the aerodynamics and heat transfer for buildings and urban design. The company is looking for partners for technical collaboration to test the simulation services. In addition they are also open to cooperation on H2020 calls related to energy efficiency of buildings under research cooperation agreement.
Description:
The Belgian Brussels based SME was founded in 2018 and offers a vast set of services related to aerodynamic and thermal engineering simulation services based on computational fluid dynamics. Simulation helps to detect problems and improve performance to increase comfort, reduce energy consumption, emissions and running costs. Applications of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) design include wind loads calculation, pedestrian wind comfort and safety studies, site planning, outdoor and indoor air quality assessment, simulation of heat ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC), fire and smoke simulation for safety studies. The use of CFD techniques based on three-dimensional numerical simulation provides most accurate and detailed simulations that are carried out by engineers at the highest technical level available, using optimized meshing algorithms to efficiently generate high-fidelity computational meshes and applying the most advanced models for turbulence and heat transfer. Currently the company is doing research in the following fields: • Computational fluid dynamics for quantitative risk assessment • Development of software tools for automatic architectural CAD files treatment for numerical simulation • Advanced atmospheric boundary layer modelling and simulation • Integration of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation with building information model (BIM) The company is looking for technical implementation partners such as architects and real estate companies and other relevant technical organisations that are willing to test the aerodynamic and thermal engineering simulation services services in their buildings. The services could also be tested under the form of demonstration pilots in H2020 projects on energy efficiency in smart buildings. A potential call of interest is: LC-SC3-B4E-3-2020 Upgrading smartness of existing buildings through innovations for legacy equipment.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
The company is looking for technical implementation partners, such as real estate companies, architects and other technical partners with an interest to apply energy efficiency services in buildings that are constructed in urban areas. The partners should make buildings available in which the aerodynamic and thermal engineering simulation services can be applied. The services could also be tested in the context of H2020 cooperation projects on energy efficiency in smart buildings in the form of a pilot. A potential call of interest is: LC-SC3-B4E-3-2020 Upgrading smartness of existing buildings through innovations for legacy equipment.
