The company is a worldwide operating Dutch consultancy and engineering firm, always looking for innovative and reliable solutions to complex issues in the areas of water, infrastructure, environment and construction. Part of their activities is inspection of works in the civil, water and energy engineering sector. Inspection of assets like rail, road, waterways, buildings and distribution networks like pipes, cables and lines, currently requires mainly manpower and is time consuming. Inspectors often make their adjustments based on gut feeling and experience. This requires high skilled expertise and knowledge, making inspections expensive and complex to plan. But this also leads to interpretable and not 1:1 comparable inspection results over the years. Nowadays innovative smart methods are available to inspect, visualize and report complex processes and operate complex equipment in an intuitive and easy way. To maximize efficiency during inspection activities and guarantee quality the company is looking for digital tools that could be used to facilitate the inspectors during all steps of the process: Preparation: - direct access to archive(d) data (revisions, drawings, report, maintenance plans) Inspection: - smart inspection solutions Reporting: - methods to digitalize and automate reporting of inspection activities and connect to asset management and design activities But also: - Realizing (elements of) self-learning and predictive digital twins for real-time asset management and prediction of risks, costs and maintenance. - Learn from other industries how to visualize and present information about the status of complex inspection processes. Aim of this request is to integrate a selection of solutions in a joint pilot project to be discussed on an open innovation platform. Partners are sought for joint development in the frame of a services agreement. The company is NOT interested in a list of digital possibilities. All Expressions of Interests of offering parties will be redirected to the platform to match all possibilities into an integrated solution. IMPORTANT: This Technology Request refers to an innovation challenge published on an open innovation internet platform. If an organization expresses interest before closing date, it will be guided towards this open innovation platform. After registration participants can browse free through other submissions and engage in discussions. All submissions will get feedback by the company on this open platform. The challenge closes on October 7th, 2019. Mind that posts on this platform are not confidential. Beside open discussions on the platform, sharing of confidential information will be made possible on demand. After that, the firm will select the SME's with whom they would like to cooperate in the development of a solution. Once the challenge is closed, Expressions of Interest for this technology request will be treated in the traditional way.
