A Korean company specialized in developing and manufacturing a portfolio of IVD (in vitro diagnostic device) products is looking for partners to distribute its product kit which is for the molecular diagnosis of more than 10 infectious pathogens simultaneously and has been mainly used in centralized clinical laboratories. The company prefers distribution partners who are specialized in infectious diseases and medical devices, additionally have wide networks with clinical laboratories.
A Korean molecular diagnostics company is now looking for distribution partners for its in vitro molecular diagnostic kit which is able to detect infectious diseases, such as HPV (human papillomavirus), TB (tuberculosis) and STIs (sexual transmitted infections). The company has been developing, manufacturing and marketing a portfolio of IVD (in vitro diagnostic device) products targeting infectious diseases and cancers since 2015. One of its proprietary patent technologies that combines multiplex PCR (polymerase chain reaction) amplification and universal lateral flow assay enables sensitive, specific, fast, affordable and easy molecular diagnostics that are especially appropriate for applications in low resource settings. The technology can amplify target genes simultaneously from the sample with the use of target specific primes and enable the visual inspection of a result of DNA and complementary universal probe. When running buffer, after adding PCR product, is added to the sample pad, it moves to the nitrocellulose membrane and hybridizes along with universal probe that is immobilized on the specific region of the nitrocellulose membrane. Finally, it is easy visual interpretation of results as red bands, visualized by binding between avidin-gold in the gold pad and biotinylated PCR products, within 20 minutes like rapid pregnancy tests. The kit of this Korean company is offering now including PCR premix (tag polymerase, deoxynucleoside triphosphate, buffer), primer mix (primers ser, buffer), positive control and detection cartridges. It is able to detect more than 10 infectious pathogens simultaneously, and it only takes less than 15 minutes to get the result which is easily interpreted and without laborious gel electrophoresis. It can be applied to sexually transmitted infections detection kit, human papilloma virus detection and genotyping kit, and mycobacterium tuberculosis and non-tuberculous mycobacteria detection kit. The company now is looking for collaborations with regional medical suppliers who distribute in vitro molecular diagnostic products to clinical laboratories.
