A leading Dutch maritime solutions provider wants to deliver a smart autopilot enabling the navigator to supervise instead of execute navigation. It is looking for technology to integrate surrounding sensor data combining this with route data and sea traffic rules. Partners can be companies and research organizations. The responsibilities of navigators on-board of vessels are continuously expanding. Next to navigation the responsibilities of handling safety of people on board and administration have been increasingly time consuming. The complexity of the vessels and operation in itself is increasing and at the same time captains and navigators have to divide their attention between multiple responsibilities which is at the expense of safety. Responsibilities such as navigation, communication, and adminstration are hard to combine. Smart autopilot technology to enable navigators to take a supervising role in the navigation of the vessel instead of executing the navigation will give them more time to increase safety aboard and reduce their workload. This leading Dutch maritime solutions provider, active in shipbuilding and operations, is looking for partners with technology that can integrate input from different sources about surrounding objects at sea and combine this with a predefined route also applying sea traffic rules. Partners can be companies and research organizations. As launching customer it is aiming for a full operational minimum viable product preferably at a technical readiness level of 9 within the framework of a technical cooperation agreement. Depending on the maturity of the technology other partnership types are possible. IMPORTANT: This technology request is an innovation challenge that is published on an open innovation platform. If interest in cooperation with this firm is expressed, the potential partner will be guided to this open innovation platform on which he can get in touch with the company via a chat function. Mind that posts on this platform are not confidential. Besides open discussion on the platform, sharing of confidential information will be made possible on demand. After closing of the open inovation platform on December 5th, the firm will start selecting the partners that will be invited for further contact. Expressions of interest that are made after December 5th will be handled as usual in the Enterprise Europe Network.
