A UK-based SME specialising in innovative fluorescent molecules for use in cell science research is looking for agents to enable them to enter new markets in France, Germany, Italy and Spain as well as additional markets in the UK. Their molecules are highly stable and specific making them ideal for front line research and development. It is envisaged that the partnerships will take the form of commercial agency agreements.
Cell science is a highly active area for research. This research is highly dependant on the use of probes to locate specific molecules on or within a cell and make them visible to researchers. These probes are often fluorescent and used in conjunction with other techniques such as microscope, cell imaging, flow cytometry, cell sorting among others. In order for these techniques to work and high value data to be produced these probes must work well. Unfortunately probes, fluorescent probes in particular are sensitive to breaking down, especially under conditions used by research techniques, for example by the use of light during microscopy. There is therefore a need for probes that are bright and stable. A UK-based SME has developed a new cell imaging and labelling technology, a range of Conjugated Polymer Nanoparticle molecular probes. These probes can be used in a variety of in-vitro and in-vivo situations and offer advantages over existing technologies. They can be used from lab research to diagnostics and therapeutic applications and can be incorporated into existing protocols. The SME is looking to enter new European markets with this technology, in particular France, Germany, Italy, Spain as well as the UK as these are seen as the largest markets for the cell science this probes support. The SME is looking for agents to enable them to access these markets that have knowledge of the cell science field as well as connections with customers and end users for these probes. It is envisaged that the partnership will take the form of a commercial agency agreement.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
The UK-based SME is looking to partner with agents that have knowledge and experience of imaging in cell science and cell research, in particular the use of fluorescent probes. While the SME would provide the bulk of the technical support it would be expected that the agent would have sufficient knowledge and experience to answer basic queries. It would also be expected that the agent would have connections with relevant customers and end users. It is envisaged that the partnership would take the form of a commercial agency agreement.
