The proposed composite material, elaborated by a Bulgarian research organization is non-combustible, waterproof, sound- and thermal-insulating. The composite material consists of expanded glass granules (diameter 5 - 20 mm), glued together by self-bonding water dispersed colloid system on silicate basis. The material has thermal conductivity coefficient α = 0.050 - 0.055 W/mK, sound absorption 30 – 40 dB, bulk density from 180 to 220 kg/m3 and compressive strength 4 – 5 MPa. The composite material is produced in blocks, of which the needed element is cut out by conventional tools.
