A UK (Scottish) logistics company, experienced in product fulfilment services for a variety of Blue Chip and smaller clients in the business to consumer and business to business market, seeks an experienced EU partner in Germany or Netherlands who can hold stock and provide a pick and pack service, delivering products to EU based customers. The company seeks a services agreement with the partner.
Description:
This long-established UK (Scottish) company brings over 30 years' experience and is a key player in the e-commerce fulfilment market. Serving a number of Blue Chip companies as well as smaller clients, the company delivers a "pick and pack" service, processing orders from multiple channels and delivering them across the UK, Europe and beyond. Product ranges include fashion, fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), promotional marketing materials and gift cards. The company currently ships 2-3 million orders annually between the UK and the EU. As a result of the Brexit deal and the subsequent impacts, the company is keen to offer its clients a cost effective and more efficient way to continue serving the EU market. The company therefore seeks an EU partner, probably in Germany or the Netherlands, who would be able to hold stock and ship out orders across Europe on a daily basis, ensuring end customers are receiving their orders in a timely manner. The company is now looking to collaborate on a long term basis under a services agreement as such a partnership will ensure timely delivery of products to the end customer and enable ongoing trade opportunities for businesses.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
The company seeks an EU partner in Germany or the Netherlands, who would be able to hold stock on behalf of the end clients. The partner company would ship out orders across Europe on a daily basis, ensuring end customers are receiving their orders in a timely manner. The partner should be an experienced logistics/fulfilment company who could receive orders by digital transfer and then pick/pack and ship out by agreed methods to other EU countries.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
The company is seeking an experienced logistics/fulfilment company that is likely to be in the 100 - 150 employee range with a turnover of 5-8 million euros. The EU partner should have either an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system or a Warehouse Management System (WMS) system to control stock and deal with the order intake provided by the UK entity on a daily API interface. The EU partner must have the flexibility to choose the right method of shipping the product – post, packet or pallet by being able to develop their system accordingly. It would be an advantage if the partner had ISO accreditations in 9001, 14001, 27001 to provide client confidence in continuity from the UK entity. The EU entity should have existing courier relationships to help determine the best and most cost effective route to market. The Scottish company anticipates having demand throughout the year usually around 10-15% of its annual demand from across its client split with demand increasing towards the festive season. Certain smaller clients can increase by up to 40% in the latter part of the year.
