Summary:
A Spanish (Basque) SME with experience in ICT for the medical sector has developed a software application that allows to save the results of the COVID-19 tests in the mobile phone as well as serving as an official document for patients. The company is looking for hospitals and healthcare facilities to validate the app under a technical cooperation or license agreement.
Description:
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a pandemic with a rapidly increasing incidence of infections and deaths. To help control the pandemic it is essential to have a centralized system of information on the results of public and private laboratory centres tests in real-time. Likewise, it is a key issue to ensure that the information provided by an individual to the authorities responsible for controlling mobility can be presented reliably and results are / can be guaranteed, for example at airports, at train stations, or at hospitals. The Spanish SME, made up of doctors and professionals from the world of communication technologies and business management, was founded in 2018 with the aim to provide solutions in the field of digitalization of medical processes. More specifically, the company’s expertise lies in the development of tools for the integral management of the medical informed consent medical procedure in digital format, which improves communication physician-patient through audiovisual technology and Blockchain security, towards a paperless health management. The company has developed a new system of COVID-19 passports that, based on the use of artificial intelligence techniques, allows to fine-tune the quality of the tests results and offers advantages especially in relation to mobility in transport. The system consists in a smartphone and web application that allows to store the COVID-19 test results in the mobile phone. It is an intuitive and easy-to-understand eHealth solution that guides the patient through the entire informed consent process: from explaining the procedure to the different medical consents they need to digitally sign through visual technology and animated videos. The Covid-19 pandemic offers a context of opportunity to introduce the patients' consent in the management of their data during the triage, which is the process of determining the priority of patients' treatments by the severity of their condition or their likelihood of recovery with and without treatment. This has not been achieved yet at clinical level and therefore represents a great chance to progress in patient assistance services. The proposed solution allows the health system and doctors to manage the different levels of patient care (follow-up from home, primary care and emergencies or hospitalization) in a much faster and more efficiently way. Expected partners are hospitals or healthcare facilities where COVID-19 tests are performed. The company is looking for a technical cooperation or license agreement.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
The Spanish SME is looking for a partner to validate the product in a field testing environment. The partner sought should be a company or institution in charge of a hospital or healthcare facility. Partners will have to perform field tests under real conditions to ensure the good work of the program. The company is looking for a technical cooperation or license agreement.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
The company is looking for either hospitals, clinics or healthcare facilities where Covid-19 tests are run. Making use of the system proposed, results would be rapidly transferred to the company so that the technology can start functioning and be validated. The more tests are run, the better.
