Description: 
A small Danish biotech company established in 2019, has created a functional beverage with plant extracts in the overlap between nutrition, health, and performance, that supports the brain in a healthy way. Normal caffeinated “energy” drinks, provide a short burst of energy, followed by a crash, and while they may give a feeling of energy for short period of time, can decrease mental performance over longer use. Starting originally in 2016, the team of a molecular biologist, a medical doctor, and a nutritionist, developed a nootropic sparkling drink that is not based on caffeine, that contains slow carbohydrates which ensure a low blood sugar response, and provides stable nutrition for the brain (Isomaltulose). The drink contains plant extracts with documented effects on cognitive function, including Sibelius Sage, Neuravena, green tea extract and ginseng. It also contains vitamin C, has a high fibre content, and of course, contains no artificial sweeteners, colours or preservatives. The drink complies with European Food Safety Agency (EFSA) and US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations. The company has received significant interest in the domestic market, has twice received funding from the national Innovation Fund to complete the product development and was successfully crowd-financed via a major supermarket cooperative. The first batch of 3000 cans was sold out quickly during 2020 and the company is currently upscaling their production, to bring commercial batches to market in early 2021. In order to grow their business, the company is looking for distributors of beverages, looking for a new, innovative product with its own unique niche. Alternatively, they may be interested in licensees, to carry the brand and expand their market reach. Exclusive deals may be offered to the right partner after a test period.
