A UK company has developed a unique device and treatment for haemorhhoids that can offer a number of advantages over traditional treatments. The company provide the service in the UK via clinics offering an outpatient service that significantly improves the quality of life for patients and avoids painful, risky, and debilitating surgery. They are seeking medical device distributors with contacts in hospitals and private clinics to add the product to their portfolio via distribution agreement.
Description:
An estimated 8 million people in the UK alone are affected by piles (haemorrhoids). Electrotherapy is a fast, effective and safe treatment for piles recently introduced in the UK. NICE (The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence UK) has published positive guidance regarding electrotherapy treatment and more than 150,000 treatments have already been carried out worldwide. The procedure is simple and usually causes minimal or no discomfort. A gentle current is applied to the base of the haemorrhoid for up to ten minutes. During treatment the piles shrink, and if not completely removed they continue to shrink for a week or more following treatment. There is no need for sedation or anaesthetic and no recovery time. Patients can usually walk straight out of the clinic and get on with their lives. The treatment is approved by NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence UK), is regulated by the CQC (Care Quality Commission UK) and is fully CE marked. A UK company is seeking agreements with distributors dealing with medical devices with reach to hospitals and clinics to include the product via distribution agreement. They would prefer distributors with colorectal experience although this is not compulsory. Ideally the distribution partner is able to service the market via a standard distribution model to hospitals but preferably they might also be able to provide full sales and service, selling and providing stock to hospitals, alongside running their own clinics, as the profile's company does in the UK.
