Description: 
The Dutch brand was developed in 2008 by a graduated designer, who wanted to design an educational product for the children in the age group of 6 – 10 years. The product is designed in the Netherlands and a producer is sought in Europe for the wooden toys, the so called wooden educational toy box. The aim of the educational box is to let children experience the logical structure of the system of our traffic signs. In this way, they no longer have to memorize the meanings, but children automate the meanings of the sign categories in a playful way. The box is sold via the designers webshop, or directly to schools The main markets are presently Holland, and Belgium, but new European markets show interest in the product. The Dutch SME is looking for established manufacturers with experience of producing wooden toys. Potential manufacturers can expect a long term cooperation, for this they want to establish a manufacturing agreement.

A long-term partner is sought in Europe under a manufacturing agreement. The manufacturer should be able to produce prototypes and be an experienced wooden toy producer that can produce toys according to the specifications from the Dutch SME. The manufacturer should have all the necessary certifications. and the Dutch designer is open for dialogue on material optimization. The Dutch company will be responsible for packing the products.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought: 
The manufacturer must be able to supply products ensuring that standards and certificates (CE (Conformité Européenne), EN 71-1 (Mechanical and physical properties), EN 71-3 (Specification for migration of certain elements)) are met (European standard EN 71 specifies safety requirements for toys.). The products should be produced in FSC-Certified material. Since the end users are children the products must be non-toxic, contain no chemical dyes and the manufacturers must use organic colours or eco labelled paint. The box and the signs are produced out of material that are from FSC (Forest Stewardship Council)wood. The material of the box is clear plywood birch. The surfaces that are touched are varnished with transparent toxic-free lacquer. The designer will supply the nylon pins on the stands (2 types), the required holes are : Ø 8 mm, depth: 7 mm. The logo on the headers is now printed, but another process is allowed as long as it is no transparent stickers. The dimensions of the box are: LxWxH = 327 x 142 x 258 mm, Thickness of the plywood = 9 mm, Thickness of the partitions = 6 mm The stand (2 pieces; they form parts of the box) : LxWxH = 316 x 124 x 9 mm The base of the stand (2 pieces) : LxWxD = 124 x 90 x 18 mm The road signs are now made of MDF-wood, with a white finish layer on both sides on which the coloured faces and lines are printed. Another process can be approved nd the backs do not have to be white either. However, the boards must be made of a wood-like product and not plastic. Number per set: 8 pieces (the small sign on the picture is not needed). The dimensions of the traffic sighs are: Thickness = D = 5 mm Round signs (2 pcs) : Ø 196 mm 1 x red/white, 1x blue/white. The 8-sided sign: Ø 196 mm red/white Big square sign: the side: 196 mm blue/white Triangular plate (2 pieces): the triangular side (from rounded corner to rounded corner): 196 mm; both identical, red/white Rectangular board: 196 x 119 mm blue/white Small square sign: 142 x 142 mm yellow/white/black
