A Finnish corporate venturing house is looking for new technologies from start-ups and growth companies to apply for an accelerator program in the maritime field. Applicants are expected from focus areas which are such as waste management, new materials, energy efficiency, artificial intelligence, operational efficiency and transparency and safety. The deadline for proposal submissions is August 11th 2019.
Description: 
A Finnish corporate venturing house, established in 2015, builds growth to corporations helping them to work with and like start-ups. The company helps corporations in the field of corporate venture capital investments and venture development, building external accelerations and internal incubators and organises business driven innovation challenges with concrete results. The company is now starting the second accelerator program in maritime industry and they are now looking for new technology developers to apply for the program. The first program took place in 2018 and resulted in commercial relationships for half of the participating start-ups and growth companies. The accelerator program has leading maritime corporations as partners which have an objective to strengthen their competitiveness by finding partners among growth companies that bring new innovations to the industry. The accelerator offers strategic hands-on consulting and commercial relationships with the partnering corporations. The accelerator program is looking for innovative start-ups and growth companies to partner up and to scale together with maritime partner corporations. This opportunity brings together fast-moving growth companies and maritime corporations and accelerates cross-company collaboration through a 3-month program. The goal of the program is to help growth companies to enter new markets and to get new venture clients. Correspondingly it supports the partner corporations to utilize already existing new innovative solutions and technologies to be taken into use in an agile environment. The application deadline is August 11th 2019. Applicants will receive a link to submit their proposal after creating an Expression of Interest. Start-ups and growth companies are searched from the following fields: -energy usage optimisation -digital twins -air conditioning optimisation -artificial intelligence -machine learning -fuel from waste -improved waste management -advanced materials -nano-coatings -tools for operational transparency (e.g. tacit knowledge, employee motivation...) -tools for operational efficiency (e.g. procurement, pricing...) -security and control (e.g. surveillance, fire safety, safety at work...). Preferably growth companies would have already existing and tested products and/or services. After the acceleration program the possible type of partnerships between industrial partner companies and selected start-ups or growth companies may be commercial agreement with technical assistance, technical cooperation or licensing.
