Description: 
A research institute based in the northern part of Germany is looking for SMEs which need individual support to improve food safety along the production chain. Each SME needs specific measurements and has to fullfill hygiene standards. Therefore the instute can offer tailor-made technology and adapt the consisting service range to the clients needs. Next to the sensory properties of the products and their nutritional profile, food safety is the main quality feature of the future for the marketing of premium products. Legal requirements and standards for food safety, in combination with improved detection methods for contaminants, are the reason behind this importance. The food producer alone carries the responsibility for the production of safe food and the implementation of the necessary measures. The goal of the research institute is to support the industrial companies in the implementation of the required measures. Food safety can only be ensured when considering the entire value chain. Due to its interdisciplinary approach, the research institute wants to cooperate with companies at all production stages. Alongside the evaluation of agricultural raw materials and the marketability of end products, the main focus is placed on the hygiene management in production. These activities are supported by microbiological and chemical examinations. Furthermore, the service is offered to support the SMEs in the future by specific training seminars for staff members covering important issues such as implementation of self-control systems, hygiene and risk management, microbiological and sensory quality control. The technical support which the research institute offers includes microbiological analysis such as: - Detection of pathogenic organisms in food and feed products - Hazardous food and feed ingredients - Allergenic and Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO) The chemical analysis includes: - Testing of food and feed ingredients - Assessment of marketability - Detection of residues The biochemical analysis includes: - Detection of proteins and enzymes Beyond that the research institute offers the introduction of quality management systems such as: - Implementation of Quality Management Systems in food Production - Consultation of individual concepts for hygienic food production - Assessment of legislative requirements for food products - Conceptual Development for monitoring - Training and Instruction courses Therefore the institute is searching other SMEs for subcontracting.
