Summary:
A French company, expert in electronic embedded systems, develops Telecommunication Control Unit (TCU) with LiFi technology for transport operators to transfer high amount of data from vehicles to infrastructure. The company is looking for public transport operators or OEMs in the framework of H2020 Fast Track Innovation European collaborative project.
Description:
A French company, established 15 years ago, is an expert in electronic embedded systems, from prototyping to low volume production for Smart Mobility applications. It develops Telecommunication Control Unit (TCU) with LiFi technology for transport operators to transfer high amount of data from vehicles to infrastructure with speed %26 security (telemetry, MDS, IP cameras, passenger info, media display). Further to LiFI the whole system will be multichannel: 3G / 4G, LTE, GNSS, WiFi. The company and its several partners (mostly French for the moment) attend to reply to H2020 Fast Track Innovation European collaborative project. The project aims to make a full system including a TCU (Telecommunication Control Unit) application with LiFi technology. Today the company has identified several use cases that could be interesting to realize with partners. The company provides an open multi-channel communication hardware platform (TCU) that includes all technologies for V2x applications (vehicle-to-vehicle, vehicle-to-cloud and vehicle-to-infrastructure). This TCU is an intelligent, open communication gateway, designed and manufactured to connect the vehicle with its environment - V2X: vehicles between themselves, with offboard infrastructure or other devices or IoT. The additional device to the TCU provides LiFi technology. Further to the LiFi, the TCU manages several interfaces such as 3G, 4G, LTE, GNSS, WiFi, Ethernet, CAN. This project is more focused on LiFi technology which will be implemented in the platform in order to increase applications possibilities with more security and bandwidth. The TCU allows applications ranging from simple monitoring of data generated by the vehicle to more advanced features such as predictive maintenance. It offers the possibility of interfacing vehicle data with the outside in a secure way in order to analyze, exploit and store it. The company identified the LiFi technology as one of the solution for public transport (cars, bus, shuttle, trams, underground ...) which needs to gather a colossal amount of data (e.g. telemetry, MDS, IP cameras, passenger info, media display...). This data has to be uploaded from the vehicle to an offboard controlling center for storage (e.g. video data in case of claim), for maintenance (e.g. telemetry or vehicle controller data...) or even for big data analysis (e.g. for customer profiling or traffic prediction...). These use cases are especially addressed to transport operators that the company is looking for. The development of this new LiFi technology will be realized with a company and a university specialized in this technology. These partners will provide a high-performance LiFi transceiver that can be interfaced with the TCU to transmit the vehicle's data to the infrastructure. To complete this partnership in the framework of H2020-EIC-FTI-2018-2020: Development of a Vehicle-to-Infrastructure Solution for Massive Data Upload and Analysis by LiFi, the company is looking for a transport operator who will deploy this LiFi technology with a use case in vehicle data transmission to infrastructure as an example.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
To complete the consortium, the company is looking for a transport operator or a fleet managing company who will deploy this Connectivity TCU-LiFi system within use cases in vehicle data transmission/storage/analysis to infrastructure as example. The company is open to discuss exact use cases regarding your needs in real life operations. The TRL of the full system will be ready to commercial launch: pilot system, test-beds, validation in real-world, with business model approved.
