Description:
Established in 2000, this engineering company has developed a significant experience in its fields of activity, serving major players in the energy from waste, renewable and environmental services, with a few significant references also in the power industry. Specifically, the SME is located in Northern Italy and is active within the following business segments: • energy from waste • renewable energy (electricity generation from biomass direct combustion) • sludges & wastewater • power industry • special waste disposal by thermal treatment Its activity also covers a wide range of services, such as: • engineering • procurement services • start-up & commissioning • EPCM (Engineering, Procurement & Construction Management Services) • technical audit & consulting The firm is now looking to expand its business abroad, looking for services outsourcing agreements with partners in needs of its engineering services. Ideally, the partnership will be based on the convenience of the other party in acquiring specialized technical know-how, both to increase the possibilities of taking on new projects, and to enter into completely new business domains. The Italian SME is also open to joint ventures for participating in calls for public tenders.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
The firm is looking for international partners in order to expand its activities abroad. The partnership can be formalized in a service outsourcing agreement, where the Italian firm offers engineering services on an as-needed basis, within a previously defined framework covering all the technical, economical and legal aspects of a long term partnership. The sought partners should then agree on the kind of services provided by the Italian SME and engaging in long-term cooperation whose details has to be decided previously by the involved parties. This is the more general form of cooperation proposed by the Italian firm, and ideally will be formalized in an MoU at first. The Italian SME is also open to temporary joint/consortium agreements if specifically needed to participate in public tenders or to answer to requests from private parties operating under similar basis. The agreement between the parties can indicate the activities executed jointly to develop a specific national or regional market, whereas in this case, the firm will operate mainly in a function of support. The sought partner should then identify the opportunity and actively manage the bureaucratic aspects while being supported by the Italian SME in the operative development of the project. Potential partners list includes (but is not limited to): • larger engineering firms, with a broader field of activities in the design of infrastructure or energy systems. • industries serving or operating in the infrastructure or energy business domain. • multi-utility companies with operations in the EfW or renewables • manufacturers of utility boilers, with or without previous experiences with heat recovery and waste to energy/biomass boilers. The partner can be based both in the EU or outside, but it must meet all the relevant regulations and standards in force in the country where the project is realised.
