Summary:
A German university is offering innovative scientific results about new forms of infection treatment to medical, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry for a license agreement. The pharmaceutical invention offers newly found compounds which inhibit and bond protozoa and bacteria by blocking the formate-nitrite transporter (FNT).
Description:
Pharmaceutical researchers from a university in North Germany found new compounds which direct against protozoa and bacteria. These compounds can be used as medication in the treatment of infections caused by protozoa and/or bacteria. The invention relates to a process to inhibit, preferably destroy, protozoa and/or bacteria through bonding of protozoa and/or bacteria with at least one of the newly found compounds. The compounds are characterized by the fact that they block the Formate-Nitrite Transporter (FNT) of protozoa and bacteria. In order to open up the market for this new way of infection treatment the university is offering its scientific results worldwide for a license agreement. They are looking for partners from the medical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry.
