Summary:
A small Greek enterprise operating in the water sports sector has created a smart wearable device in the form of a watch that can provide real-time data and training support for a variety of water sports uses. The company is looking for a manufacturing partner with the capacity to produce such a device, in collaboration with the Greek partner who would provide the technical specifications.
Description:
A Greek SME specialized in the Internet of Things (both hardware and software) for the maritime industry has developed a real-time training system for various water sports, such as windsurfing, kite-surfing and small boat sailing. It can be used to complement existing services offered by trained instructors and water sports schools, in order to enhance and customise training for both amateurs as well as professionals. The wind-clock technology incorporated in the device is combined with a dashboard and platform, to provide a personal analytics tool that helps the individual to monitor and improve performance, as well as having the added benefit of being able to share his/her experiences with the world through the online function. The company does not have the capacity (either in terms of human resources or in terms of equipment / facilities) to produce this device itself, so it is looking for a business partner that could take on the production through a manufacturing agreement.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
The potential partner would ideally be in a country where water sports are well-established and preferably in Europe, though other countries around the world are also of interest. The Greek client wishes to target manufacturing companies that have suitable capacity and background in producing such wearable devices.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
The client is looking for a manufacturing partner, preferably in Europe, which has the capacity and experience to produce smart wearable devices such as the one the Greek company has developed.
