Summary:
A Ukrainian University has developed micro/nanopowders with bright red luminescence based on bismuth-containing phosphors to companies, research groups and universities. The proposed phosphors have an outstanding chemical and thermal stability, low cost and enhanced luminescence. It is envisaged that the partnership will take the form of commercial agreements with technical assistance or research cooperation agreement.
Description:
Development of novel phosphors is an important issue for materials sciences and research, especially in the optimization of spectral processes in light emitting diodes. However developing the right host and activators in the right quantities and that are bright enough to work with is a difficult task. The Ukrainian university has specific expertise in the development of oxide phosphors for research. These oxides have the spectral characteristics required for light emitting diodes, and can be prepared in a form of micro/nanopowder or glass material/ The optical properties can be controlled by know composition and activators quantity. The Ukrainian university is looking to partner with companies, universities and research organizations conducting research that would develop light emitting diodes based on luminescent materials proposed. The University would develop the powders or glasses with the required characteristics for the partner and would expect the partner to provide information on performance in order for the University to improve its technology and offer. It is envisaged that the partnership will take the form of commercial agreements with technical assistance or research cooperation agreement. This will depend on the nature of the project and the specific situation of the partner.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
The Ukrainian university is looking for partners from the field of optical and chemical industry that requires discovery-to-development transition of research projects. Especially in solid state chemistry for optoelectronics they are an interesting partner. They look for the research cooperation agreement with universities or R&D institutions or the commercial agreements with technical assistance with industrial partners whish have relevant capacity, and accreditation to carry out the manufacturing to the industrial scale of the LEDs developed.
