Summary:
A Greek SME develops management systems for environmental challenges. They specialize in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of waste treatment facilities. The company is looking for an industrial manufacturer of waste treatment refining units with ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis membranes. The collaboration sought is a manufacturing agreement.
Description:
A Greek SME develops management systems for environmental challenges and specializes in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of waste treatment facilities. They are looking for a manufacturing agreement for refining units. Specifically, they are interested in refining units with ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis membranes. The company founded in 1980 in Central Greece with a strategy geared towards sustainable development. Their main objective to reduce the environmental pollution caused by human activities while increasing productivity and reducing the energy and natural resource consumption. They specialize in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of waste treatment facilities. More specifically, they work with sewage and industrial waste water treatment facilities, drinking and industrial water treatment facilities and solid (urban and industrial) waste management facilities (landfill sites). The company is looking for refining units of two types. The first type is for refining units with ultrafiltration (UF) membranes for landfill waste facility projects. The capacity should be up to 5m3/h and the operating temperature ranging between 5ºC and 35ºC. The units need to include all required equipment as per manufacturer suggestions, as well as the installation of a water rinsing and dry cleaning system for the membranes. The membranes need to be tubular, with cross flow, fed by external pump. Additionally, able to be washed with clean water from either the UF or reverse osmosis process. The UF concentrate will return to the biological treatment. The refining unit operation needs to be fully automatic. The second type of refining unit sought is one with reverse osmosis membranes for landfill waste facility projects. They need reverse osmosis capacity of 3m3/h, input at 10ºC with an operating temperature range from 5ºC to 35ºC and a nominal reverse osmosis capacity of about 70ms/day. The refining units need at least two stages, as well as an installation of a water rinsing and dry cleaning system for the membranes. The reverse osmosis system needs to include pre-filtration in a sand filter and cartridge filters of 10mm. A washing device for cleaning the sand filter also needs to be included. All the necessary instruments for the automatic control and operation of the unit need to be included by the manufacturer. Operation needs to be fully automatic. A long-term collaboration is sought, under a manufacturing agreement, with a reliable industrial partner for the procurement and operation of refining units and the mebmbranes needed, as described.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
A long term collaboration is sought under a manufacturing agreement. The company needs a reliable industrial partner for the manufacturing and supply of the refining units and the membranes for using them in their environmental projects.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
Refining units with UF (ultrafiltration) membranes for landfill waste facilities projects. The UF membranes of the refining units require the following basic characteristics: • Temperature design: 16 ºC • Operating temperature range: 5 - 35 ºC • Ultrafiltration capacity - UF when operating 5m3 / h • Flow rate (flux): Guaranteed by the manufacturer • Operation of membranes under pump pressure (suction filtration) • Membrane type: tubular, cross flow and feeding by external pump. • Other required equipment (feed pumps etc, instruments, auxiliary equipment): selected by the UF manufacturer. • Installation of a reverse washing and dry cleaning system for the membranes • Membranes’ pore size: 0.02-0.2 mm • Electrical panel and automation by the manufacturer of the unit. • Ultrafiltration’s concentrate will return to the biological treatment. • For membranes’ washing either clean water from reverse osmosis or clean water from ultrafiltration will be used • Fully automated operation required. Two stage refining units with reverse osmosis membranes for landfill waste facilities projects. Basic characteristics: • Refining units with reverse osmosis membranes (2stages), up to 3m3 / h • Temperature design: 16 ºC • Operating temperature range: 5ºC - 35ºC • Reverse osmosis capacity (when operating): 3m3 / h at input and at 10ºC • Nominal RO capacity: ≈70ms/day • Reason for recovery of the entire reverse osmosis unit, according to design capacity and the technical characteristics of the drains ≥ 0.65 • At least two (2) stages • Installation of water rinsing and dry cleaning system for the membranes • Reverse osmosis system needs to include pre-filtration in a sand filter and cartridge filters of 10mm as well as a washing device for cleaning the sand filter. • All the necessary instruments for the automatic control and operation of the unit are included by the manufacturer. • Fully automated installation required.
