Summary:
A very innovative Spanish company working in the solar energy sector has developed a new technology that, when used in the solar panels, boosts its performance up to 87%. This patented innovation consists of a series of insulating layers designed and arranged to minimize heat loss of the panel and to maximize the electricity production thanks to the cooling obtained from the photovoltaic cells. The company is looking for commercial agency or distribution services agreements.
Description:
A very innovative Spanish company, founded in 2017 and focused on the production of solar panels, has developed a new technology that highly boosts their panels’ performance. In figures, its certified global performance is 87% (70% thermal and 17% photovoltaic), and currently the share of electricity production is over 19%. The patented technology consists of a series of insulating layers designed and arranged to minimize heat loss of the panel and to maximize the electricity production thanks to the cooling obtained from the photovoltaic cells. This technology is used in the manufacturing of hybrid panels. The advantages of this system are maximized in buildings and facilities where not only electricity but also domestic hot water (DHW) and heating are used. The higher the consumption of thermal energy and electricity, the greater the savings and profitability from hybrid solar panels are. This kind of panels usually are better for new constructions and existing buildings in the tertiary sector, but other sectors may also benefit from them. The company is targeting already-built facilities and buildings where thermal energy and hot water are used. Currently the following sectors are considered as regular customers: + Hostelry (hotels, inns, rural houses, etc.) + Nursing homes + Agriculture + Industry (industrial processes requiring hot water) + Collective housing + Private houses The company’s technical and product development office has many years of experience also in the field of solar installations in the broad sense of the term (ST - Solar thermal, PV - photovoltaic, PVT - photovoltaic thermal). They work in collaboration with several engineers, installers, and end customers. They are also part of some international working groups such as Solar Heat Europe, EU Task 60, SOCOL... The company has also already worked on heat networks, temporary storage heat systems, solar systems with a circuit for tri-generation (electricity + DHW, cooling and heating) and they are open to consider any use of PVT energy different from the usual ones. The company is looking for commercial agency or distribution services agreements with companies or professionals in the renewable energy sector. However, the company is open to evaluate any other type of agreement to reach new markets.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
- Type of partner sought: Solar solution installers, engineers specializing in energy efficiency in buildings and industries, experts in renewable energies, responsible for operating centres for technical heat stations, architects, real estate developers. - Specific area of activity of the partner: Energy, building efficiency, carbon-neutral building construction and the environment. - Task to be performed: The company wants to make alliances in the growing market of solar thermal and photovoltaic power production for the commercialisation and distribution of its latest innovative products.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
The company is looking for partners working in sectors where hybrid solar panels are easily profitable are those where the catchment area is limited, and where there is a high consumption of electricity and hot water. The company is specialised in offering profitable solutions so that both companies and individuals may drive both the energy transition with economic expectations of savings. The company is also looking for engineers and/or entrepreneurs who address issues about energy efficiency, renewable energy solutions in which hybrid solar panels complete the types of installations that allow them to be different and profitable (the typology can be seasonal accumulation, cogeneration or solar trigeneration).
