A UK-based SME offers its expertise in product design and development to companies, universities and research institutions to aid them with their mechanical engineering projects. It is envisaged that the partnership will take the form of a services agreement.
Description:
During mechanical engineering projects problems with the product design and performance are often identified late in the project life cycle. These issues could have been identified earlier in the design and development process which would have saved on project time and costs. A UK-based mechanical engineering solutions SME offers its expertise in mechanical engineering design and development to companies, research institutions and universities for their projects. This expertise covers the full product life cycle from writing technical specifications to design optimisation and finalisation. This ensures that the product's specifications are compliant with regulatory requirements, that the appearance of the product can be optimised while retaining all intended features and performing all intended functions. The product's design can be adapted through initial structural assessments and fluid flow assessments where appropriate to ensure that the best design concept is taken forwards in terms of compliance, function, appearance and economical manufacturing. They use specialised software systems in order to achieve this; Ansys for numerical modelling and simulation, SolidEdge and Solidworks for 3D Mechanical Design and Development, and ESATAN and Thermica for Thermal Modelling and Design. The UK SME offers its expertise to companies, universities and research institutions for their mechanical engineering projects. It is envisaged that the partnerships will take the form of a services agreement.
