Summary:
A world leading UK technology company involved with LoRa technologies (low power wide area network), and operating exclusively at 2.4 GHz, is looking for licensing partners to bring location and data reporting services to the market through their own channels. Large, and preferably multi-country represented companies, are sought with strong sales channels and potential in European and North American markets via a license agreement.
Description:
The company which is based in the UK was incorporated in 2013 and has focused on location and data reporting operating with LoRa Technology (low power wide area network) from 2017, which is now its 100% focus. The company has been awarded substantial government grant funding to develop this technology and their platform, and the company is now ready to license this platform to companies and partners wanting to bring this capability to their customers. The company has 3 partners on board currently and their ideal partner is an organisation who can fulfil a “one to many” approach, whereby the partner has extensive reach to other businesses and end consumers. In return the company can offer their license partner the world leading platform operating at 2.4 GHz operating in indoor environments, as well as outside, on the same network. The platform can also identify different floor levels indoors such as multi floor buildings so the platform can truly operate with a 3D view. Therefore, people and assets such as equipment/tools can be tracked and their location reported on with an accuracy level of within 2 metres, if required. The location reporting is achieved by attaching an Intelligent tag to the item wanting to be tracked. The tag can be customised to record and collect information from the person/asset that is important and key for the partner. So, the technology the company has delivered can offer world class location reporting capabilities as well a customised service suitable for license partner’s requirements and their markets. The SME is looking for licensing partners to bring location and data reporting services to the market through their own channels. Large, and preferably multi-country represented companies, are sought with strong sales channels and potential, ideally in European and North American markets via a license agreement.
Type (e.g. company, R&D institution…), field of industry and Role of Partner Sought:
The company is looking for a Partner(s) who have scale to their business with multiple sales channels. The potential partner may currently have location and data reporting capabilities within their product and solution ranges and are wanting to add to that or want to “buy” into this area, without going through the delay and cost of building the solution internally. The platform can operate across different sectors and can be viewed as a horizontal technology and not too sector specific. Sectors which have engaged to date have been smart agriculture, health, industrial processing, military, aerospace and rail. The Partner(s) should be happy to work as a license partner and yet be able to provide input in to how the assets/tags can be customised and be able to pull out their customer and the market requirements for development.
Technical Specification or Expertise Sought:
Great track record of selling products and solutions to different sectors and successful in either business 2 business (B2B) or business to consumer (B2C) situations. It is preferable for the partner to have access to manufacturing facilities for any hardware required either internally or through other relationships and suppliers. All reference designs would be supplied under license to support manufacturing processes. A third party, who would be commercially engaged separately to support manufacturing, can be recommended if a partner does not have access to manufacturing services. Be able to provide a full show case demonstration of the technology at their offices or in another suitable marketing environment. An example of the marketing the company’s UK partner has undertaken can be provided via expressions of interest.
