Summary:
The UK company has been manufacturing the trailer mounted scaffold tower system since 2003 and selling to major clients in construction, utilities, facilities management, public sector and education services in the UK. Although the company has been approached by companies within Europe and the Middle East the company is looking to expand by building distribution networks with partners who have contacts in those sectors under a distribution services agreement.
Description:
The company has been operating since 2003 from its current premises. The managing director originally designed the innovative unfolding scaffolding system system back in 1993 whilst a student when he identified that there was a need for a manually operated system in the oil and gas sectors. It has subsequently been sold into other sectors in the UK. The system is ideal for jobs that have traditionally been done by scaffold towers, cherry pickers, scissor lifts or ladders. The system is designed to be erected by a single person within five minutes of arriving at site. Unlike a scaffold tower the entire erection procedure is carried out at ground-level and with single piece construction there are no parts to lose when in position. Steps necessary are: (1) Set the stabiliser jacks. (2) Pull ladder into position. (3) Winch up the platform. (4) Climb and get to work. The product latches at 0.25m intervals to a maximum working height of 6.5m (21ft). The product is human powered and unlike scissor lifts or cherry pickers It has no power requirement, no electronic parts and costs less to maintain. Safety rails are built into the product. All latches automatically lock into position. The product is CE marked and has been designed and tested to BS EN 1004:2004.The product weighs 380kg with a built in trailer (including towbar, wheels, lights and even numberplate clips) which can be towed by any towbar equipped car or van. It is a very safe and stable trailer that can be towed up to the legal limit and compared to cherry pickers it is not limited to a speed of 50 mph. It saves time waiting for deliveries or unloading from trailers or low-loaders. There is a European patent registered for the system. The company is looking to grow the business by building relationships with partners who have distribution networks into the oil and gas, construction, facilities management, public sector , sports or education sectors under a distribution services agreement.
