The disinfectant product industry must face new and more restricted European regulation and the necessity of more healthy and sustainable sanitizers for washing of whole and fresh-cut F&V. Chlorine-based chemicals are the most widely used disinfectants in fresh-cut industry. These sanitizers pose health and environmental risks. They can react with organic matter in water and form trihalomethanes as by-products, which are carcinogenic compounds. Besides Chlorine is included in the indicative list of the Directive on industrial emissions as a major water pollutant.

The German company is filing a project with the overall aim of developing a standardized method to calibrate non-invasive blood pressure measurement instruments. This way blood pressure values can be used more reliably in medical diagnostics and patient monitoring. Once the method is developed and tested in the frame of the project it can be translated into a European wide standard. Once an EU standardised measurement is possible prevention measures and therapies for cardiovascular diseases can be applied, exchanged and further developed a lot better on European scale.

The relationship between brands and their customers is experiencing a revolution greater than what companies have perceived so far. The confluence and consolidation of different technologies (computer vision -CV-, augmented reality -AR-, machine learning -ML- ...) has the potential to become a real revolution that can radically change the interaction of different actors in the CRM process. Companies expect to deliver user experiences based on virtual reality over the next four years, and to offer much of the user experience through chatbots.

Pain perception has evolved as a warning mechanism to alert organisms to tissue damage and dangerous environments, and is therefore essential for survival. In human, erroneous activation of the pain-sensing system, as in chronic and neuropathic pain, represents a major health burden with insufficient treatment options. However, new therapeutic options are currently being developed based on studies of a small number of individuals with Congenital Insensitivity to Pain (CIP).

Currently, root-cause and connectivity status analysis are lacking. Therewith,it is: - harder to predict and forewarn about disasters - troubleshooting is harder in case of failure - there are increased downtimes Another problem is that current signature-based intrusion detection methods do not protect against zero-day attacks and anomaly-based intrusion detection generates a high number of ‘false positives’ and is not immune to malicious attacks posing as normal data.
