The aim of this project under the Call:TWIN-TRANSITION-01-07: Digital tools to support the engineering of a Circular Economy, is to develop a digital twin based autonomous automatized dismantling and sorting pre-shredder recycling system (including robotics, Artificial Intelligence, machine learning) for the automotive or machinery industry to secure nearly 100% closed loop recycling in particular with respect to rare and valuable materials. With respect to resource efficiency, closed loop recycling management already plays a major role.

Founded in 1946, the German company is an internationally active, innovative mechanical engineering company that manufactures automated machines and systems for shoe production. Shoe production is a labour-intensive and cost-sensitive production. Contribution margins are usually low and working conditions often difficult. In the wake of stronger consumer demands for sustainable products manufactured with good social standards and ever-shorter product cycles, it is important for shoe producers to use flexible and automated production equipment.

The family-owned DIN ISO 9001 certified German SME that was founded in 1994 and is an expert in design and manufacture of state-of-the-art water treatment and heating products tackling problems such as corrosion and scaling of pipes as well as poor thermal heat transfer. International expansion started 4 years ago and is currently covering 14 countries outside Germany. The company is now looking for further distributors for their products covering two major areas of water treatment: 1. Closed loop systems - providing corrosion protection and enhancement of thermal transfer.

The number of electric vehicles that are being registered is increasing significantly each year. The efficient charging of the drive battery is a key technology for the continued success of electric vehicles on the market. In this context, attention has recently turned to transformerless on-board charger concepts. Given the known and considerable leakage capacitance of the battery and the connected high-voltage system, special care must be taken with transformerless chargers to ensure that high leakage current is not generated to ground and through the protective earth (PE) conductor.
